The Ups and Downs of Life and Sew A Longs!

I was so excited about the 2013 Essential Tops SAL.  I had a plan, I had my fabric, and I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I have been dreaming of updating and adding to my work wardrobe, as I feel I wear the same items over and over.  There is no good reason for this but laziness actually.

But life has its ups and downs, and doesn't always play nice.  Any way, my younger sister is dealing with heart failure.   She is in the early stages of a heart transplant.  She is 39 years old and a mother of an eight year old, my nephew, Jordan Ryan, who happens to be the love of my life.    Her husband drives buses cross country, so he's often on the road.  So, my older sister, my mother and I have taken on the tasks to help her out.

This past Monday I took her to her an appointment at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL.  Its a specialty hospital for heart and lung issues.  The hospital is about 2 hours away from Orlando where we live.   She had to meet with her team of transplant specialists.   So, with that being said, my sewing has been far and few between.  I am going to try to go into my sewing cave this weekend and do some much needed catching up.

Here is what I've been able to get done for the 2013 Essential Tops SAL:

At least you noticed there was a top SAL, I was in the midst of spring cleaning and wasn't reading any blogs for a few weeks and missed the whole thing!
